St. Jude provides housing for the patient and three family members in each St. Jude-sponsored room or apartment.
If you will have more than four family members in town, please make other arrangements for them. Local hotels offer below-market rates to St. Jude families who need additional rooms.
Because all families deserve equal treatment, St. Jude cannot grant exceptions to this housing policy. If you have questions about the St. Jude housing guidelines, call Brent Adams, director of Patient Housing at 595-4366 or talk with your social worker.
While you are living at the Ronald McDonald House, Target House or the Memphis Grizzlies House, a St. Jude patient housing social worker is available help you understand your new shared home environment. The social worker can offer activities that can answer many of the questions and concerns that may come up during your stay. The social worker also provides support and counseling to help families adjust to living away from home and returning home after their stay.
Each month, a parent support group meets that gives families a chance to join together and get support from other St. Jude families. There are also numerous activities planned for all families in St. Jude’s patient housing. To keep up with all the activities, look for Inside Scoop, a newsletter that is distributed monthly to all families in patient housing. This publication provides information about upcoming events as well as recapping past events.
