What is Saddle Up®  for St. Jude?

Saddle Up for St. Jude is a fun, family-oriented fundraising event based around horseback riding that raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Typically, a Saddle Up event consists of a trail ride, but it can also include horse shows and other equestrian events. Horse enthusiasts and the general public alike, have joined together to hold Saddle Up events across the country to help in the hospital’s fight against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.


How can you get involved today?

Sign up to be a Saddle Up coordinator and hold your very own event! Next, recruit participants, distribute fundraising materials provided by St. Jude, and ask them to contact their family and friends to gather donations for taking part in your event.

Passion for Horses and St. Jude drives volunteer's spirit
In 1999, when Kathy Moore agreed to coordinate a trail ride in Alamo, Tennessee, for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, she knew it would be a fun event and that it would help children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. But a decade later she neither expected to be celebrating her 10th anniversary ride nor did she think she would be raising the kind of funds she has been raising for the hospital.

 

Meet Macy
In early 2003, when Macy was 6 years old, she developed a virus and was listless and feverish. She was sweet and fun as always, but she didn’t seem completely herself. Macy’s mom, Melanie, took her to the doctor, but the trips yielded nothing unusual.
